SUMMARY:The Art of Fluid Movement: A Continuum Retreat at OMEGA
DESCRIPTION:The human body is a body of water. The breath\, sounds\, and movement explorations of Continuum awaken our oceanic ancestry. Aquatic creatures are the guides in this retreat. \nFluid movement helps us become more comfortable in our bodies\, increasing our ability to adapt to circumstances with more ease. Moving like water dissolves barriers and liberates energy that can better support our health\, relationships and artistic expressions. A natural state of creative flow is restored. \nOur innate desire for connection and community is amplified by fluid movement. The creative exchanges between participants will generate benefits extending far beyond the completion of the workshop. This retreat is for anyone who wishes to learn to sustain themselves from a fluid state of wholeness\, well-being\, spontaneity\, and joy. \nThe Art of Fluid Movement: A Continuum Retreat ~ June 29 – July 4\, 2025 ~ Elaine Colandrea & Megan Bathory-Peeler\, organizers \n\n“Beyond a retreat\, this Continuum gathering is a movement that will hold your heart and touch the mystery and depths of the continuum of life. Bathe in the waters of your being and enliven in practices that shed and clear\, uncovering your being leaving space\, like unfurling flora\, to become.” ~ Nicole Faustini \nWill you swim into awe with us at Omega this July? \nThe week begins with a journey down the path to Stillwater\, a sanctuary cradled by lush quiet green – Long Pond Lake shining through the trees. Then as you enter the simple beauty of the gathering space you will experience a sense of arrival – welcomed with open arms and bright smiles – to the home of your beingness. \nUnconditional acceptance and the warmth of genuine welcome will help you slide into your place in the opening circle as if you have always been here\, or never left. There are no words to adequately describe what will happen next: you are awash with the vibrations of shared voices\, contained by something far bigger than yourself\, caught in a swell of sound filling your senses – will you laugh or cry from the pure pleasure of it? \nThere is truly nothing like it. \n“Omega combines the opportunity for contemplative deep learning with the spirit of being a youngster in summer camp. It’s a magical environment for discovery and transformation.” ~ Bonnie Gintis \nEmptiness saturates our culture. Addictions\, consumption\, and materialism are pervasive symptoms of our cultural disconnection. They are our attempts to escape\, or cope\, with the unbearable feelings of barrenness\, separation\, and isolation far too many of us struggle with. \nWhen there’s sustained absence of community to create a container\, to hold a sense of interconnected We\, individuals adapt\, attempting to create this container in themselves. Rarely\, however\, do these Me spaces allow any of us to walk deep enough into the cave of our experience\, to a place where we can fully acknowledge and let go of all that we carry – including the grief of not being held regularly by a community of other beings. It is by being vulnerable together\, openly sensing and being sensed by other beings\, that we return to a felt-sense of wholeness\, a sense of oneness\, entering an interconnected space that interpersonal neurobiology researcher Dr. Daniel Siegel calls\, MWe. \n“The joy of gathering at Omega is theme and variation. The themes are friendship\, celebration\, and togetherness. It matters not if you are coming to Continuum for the first time or have been with the practice for many years\, our purpose at Omega is to be in community. The variation comes from the collaborative efforts of the teaching team\, the way they weave their collective knowledge through new explorations each year.” ~ Rori Smith  \nIt is the human developmental journey to integrate the relational self with our inner self. We can consciously choose to deepen this journey with experiences that counter the imprisonment of modern culture’s messages of separation. It is not possible to do this without being in active relationship with self\, with other humans\, and with the world around us. This week-long Continuum at Omega is a celebration of interdependence that provides counterbalance to the fierce independence we are enculturated with. Gathering in-person together to move\, sound\, breathe\, and truly be our authentic selves is freedom amplified. It will nurture you for the months that lie ahead. \nCome experience the power of awe\, the power of being in a place of possibility\, a place of open awareness\, interconnection\, and love. It is time to dive in! Let’s discover what unfolds and emerges when each of us dissolves our resistance to change or adaptive growth. Let’s meet naked in our self-honesty\, in a place of limitless possibility. \n\nIn this retreat\, our work is to make ourselves more receptive – emptying and letting go so we can open to what is emerging in ourselves\, each other\, and the world around us. \nSAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE:\n9:00 Arrivals on Monday\n9:30 – 12:30 workshop session (M-F)\nLunch and Free Time\n2:30 – 5:30 workshop session (M\, T\, TH)\nDinner\nEvening activities (various offerings and completely optional)\nHALF-DAY WEDNESDAY • AFTERNOON PLAYTIME!\nWednesday Evening: Watermark Arts Performance\nDepartures on Friday after Lunch \n\nPlease give yourself the gift of this time-in and grace the rest of us with the gift of your presence and all that you will bring to our shared celebration of The Art of Fluid Movement at Omega this June 29 – July 4\, 2025. \n \nWith excited anticipation of the delights ahead ~ \nThe 2025 OMEGA Faculty “Octopod” \nEllen Cohen\, Linda Rabin\, Megan Bathory-Peeler\, Elaine Colandrea\, Bonnie Gintis\, Elisabeth Osgood-Campbell\, Melanie Gambino\, and Robin Becker \n(pictured left to right)

SUMMARY:Liquid Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Open the door this year to the body’s inherent wisdom through the moving mindfulness practice of Continuum. These weekly explorations will creatively awaken the physiology of the body with active\, fluid body workouts in balance with restorative\, expansive explorations asking: What is support? What is strength? What is resilience? \nAs the world around us continues to be in constant flux\, reclaiming our own truth\, trusting our own inner wisdom and honing our listening skills has never been more important. What would our lives be like if joy and pleasure are what motivated us? What if we embraced all movement as the medicine that brings us health and vitality? What would it be like to experience stillness from deep inner and outer acceptance instead of being immobilized by fear\, anxiety and overwhelm? \nContinuum reminds us how to slow down\, quiet our minds and open our hearts. We attune to the subtle movement responses of our body’s tissues and fluid systems. As we slow down to the speed of water\, our tissues hydrate themselves\, becoming less dense (more spacious). This helps us relocate ourselves in our bodies\, separate from the sensory overload of modern culture\, and drop into our place in the interconnected web of life. This is all about restoring our relationships with all that is. \nThese weekly offerings will be guided by Megan Bathory-Peeler\, an expert somanaut – a true explorer of the body. Think of carving out this 1.5-hour block of time as a personal weekly retreat or spiritual bath. Isn’t it time to give your Self the gift of bathing in a pool of rest\, reflection\, acceptance\, compassion\, discovery\, and inspiration? \nLIQUID RESILIENCE: CONTINUUM MOVING MEDITATIONS\n\nJOIN US ANYTIME! Classes started January 3\, 2025 and will continue ongoing throughout the year… check calendar regularly for exceptions. \nFIND COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND INSPIRATION ON FRIDAYS via Zoom\n8:30-10:30 am ET/2:30-4:30 CET\n\n  \nUSE THIS ZOOM LINK EVERY WEEK:\n\nJoin Zoom Meeting – Liquid Reslience\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87926524930\nMeeting ID: 879 2652 4930\n\n  \n\nHOW DO I REGISTER? Everyone is encouraged to drink 2 cups of water before the start of class. Have a full water bottle nearby.\nBring a notebook to write in every week.\nWe will often use balls in class. Having a tennis ball and a 9 inch soft ball is strongly encouraged. Here’s a link to the ball that I like best. There are many versions of these on the market and any will work. 9″ BALL\nBring your curiosity and an open mind\, and you’ll have everything you need!\n\n\nWhat is Continuum Somanautiko? Continuum is a practice that cultivates dynamic awareness throughout the body. Beginning with simple breaths and vocalized sounds\, these vibrations invoke subtle and spontaneous movements within the body. As these intrinsic movements emerge\, they spark creative sensory imagery and increase fluid responsiveness in our embodied minds. Within the first few breaths\, we recover and restore sensation and awareness that has been flattened and lost by the speed of modern life. This immediately increases our vitality\, adaptability\, and immunity — making us more resilient. \nSlowing down to the speed of water\, our tissues hydrate themselves\, becoming less dense and more spacious. Continuum helps us relocate ourselves\, separate from the sensory overload of technology-driven culture\, and drop into our place in the interconnected web of life on earth. It then becomes possible to explore the edges between the known and the unknown in Continuum’s essential inquiry — what is a body? \nContinuum develops the non-judgmental witness\, allowing to us to be fully present to our own process\, without expectations of outcome. This enhances our ability to rest into what is\, to be in the Here and Now. By reconnecting to what is most alive in each of us with more empathy and compassion for ourselves\, it becomes easier to perceive the same in others and offer these gifts out to human and non-human beings around us. Continuum is a practice that deepens our trust in our own inherent wisdom and the interdependence of all things —skills and awareness that are critically needed in this time of ongoing pandemic recovery and climate-driven adaptability.

SUMMARY:Moving Body - Finding Peace\, Making Space for Grief

Bring a picnic lunch\, water bottle\, journal and pen\, layers of clothing\, and blankets or mats for exploring outside. No previous Continuum experience is required. Every Body is welcome! \nEnjoy an inspirational day with personal nourishment on Shantigar’s glorious mountainside. Devote yourself to reconnecting with internal peace and creativity\, sourced directly from your moving\, breathing body. \nThis workshop is lovingly held by Continuum teacher and somanaut\, Megan Bathory-Peeler. With sound\, breath\, movement\, stillness\, and silence\, come share a peace prayer process that emerged from the work of Megan’s Israeli colleague\, Leela Shalem\, who holds healing spaces for people living in the crossfire of wars. Through this process\, it is possible for anyone to dive deep and connect with a sense of security\, sanity\, and peacefulness that is stable and untouched by surrounding noise. While resting in that space\, an opening to grief and a rekindling of one’s inner light occurs. \nIt is said that in difficult times\, it is only bodhichitta (awakening wisdom and compassion for all sentient beings) that heals. When inspiration has become hidden\, when we feel ready to give up\, this is the time when healing can be found in the tenderness of pain itself. This is the time to touch the genuine heart of bodhichitta. In the midst of loneliness\, in the midst of fear\, in the middle of feeling misunderstood and rejected is the heartbeat of all things\, the genuine heart of sadness. – Pema Chödrön \nGathering as community in these times of chaos and uncertainty\, we can create islands of coherence and sanity\, embodying peace\, weaving a web of light that breathes life into a new vision of the future. \nDuring this day long workshop\, there will be a ceremonial cacao offering made by participant Scout Savard to enhance and support the opening of our hearts\, the opening to grief\, and the deepening of inner peace. There will also be opportunity to explore with art-making supplies and time to metabolize\, meditate\, and muse in Shantigar’s pristine woods and fields. \nFor questions and registration\, contact Megan via email: megan@somanautiko.com or phone: 413.772.0078 \nWorkshop facilitator Megan Bathory-Peeler is an expert somanaut\, fully engaged by the moving inquiry of what it takes to thrive in a human body and within the human experience in the 21st century. Her unique Somanautiko approach synergistically weaves together three decades of professional interdisciplinary study and practice as a teacher of Continuum\, Certified Somatic Therapist/Educator\, bodyworker\, choreographer\, performance artist\, activist\, and mother. Megan’s greatest pleasure comes from co-creating safe spaces that allow people of all ages to return home to themselves\, reclaim the power of their own creativity\, and find ease in the innate wisdom of their bodies.
