As a Graceful Aging Guide I am committed to providing dignity and recognition of everyone’s unique experience of what it means to be human. Shaped by growing up in a family of physicians, midwives, psychologists, educators, and philosophers, I embrace the necessary cycle of loss, death, and renewal that is the essence of what life is for all organisms on Earth.
The Somanautiko approach helps individuals at any developmental stage explore the “leading edges” of the comfort zones in their lives. Aging is a process that brings most people to their leading edges with considerable regularity. Learning to live gracefully with our vulnerability and a conscious awareness of our mortality is the very active dance of aging. Having now entered my 50s, I am an even more able dance partner for those who are exploring this rich territory full of self-discovery and seeking self-fulfillment at this phase of their lives.
It is my honor to provide similar support for individuals transitioning out of their bodies at death as I do for little ones coming into their bodies at birth. This circle of support involves direct care for those who are care-giving and grieving the loss of their loved one.
Somanautiko is an ever-changing inquiry into how to embrace the constant cycles of loss, rebirth, and renewal in a human body, mind, and spirit that are the catalysts for life itself.
