Welcome! I am a lifelong somanaut – an explorer of the body. Movement is my primary language and the foundation of every modality through which I offer guidance and healing.
I excel at helping people feel heard, seen, and felt. In getting to know you, I will help you reflect on your experience with clarity, honesty, and humor. Together we will seek the source of any issue or distress and ask it what it needs.
This approach is best suited for people who are actively on a path of discovery about themselves and what they want to contribute to the world in this lifetime. Are you on this path? Are you ready to commit to a shared process of exploration and healing in support of your journey?
Yes?! Then explore this website to find out how Somanautiko can support you or your loved one. I look forward to connecting with you.
I am a life-long lover of movement, consciousness, connection, creativity, and compassionate communication. I began my career as a dancer, performance artist, improviser and choreographer. In 1997, I earned a BA in Dance from Smith College with an additional self-designed, interdisciplinary degree in Body-Based Systems of Communication. I taught dance, experiential anatomy, and the creative process for a number of years and then founded my own dance company in 2002. I engage in creative research, develop new pieces, and perform regularly.
I have been Licensed and Nationally Board Certified in Massage, Bodywork, and Somatic Therapy since 1993. I am a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist with ISMETA. I am a founding member and current administrator of the Continuum Teachers Association. A lifelong learner, my continued inquiries inform the ongoing research and creative endeavors that is Somanautiko.

Movement has always been my primary language.
I make sense of my life and the world by being in my body; my senses are alive and active as I engage with the people and environment around me.
For me, everything happens in relationship, starting with myself and my body. Being in an embodied relationship with my own thoughts, feelings, and ideas allows me to enter into relationship with other people and the world around me from a grounded and resourced place.
As a small child I began making songs out of sounds so I could feel my experiences. Then I began to make dances to make sense of the world as I perceived it. I have never stopped. As a dancer, improviser, and choreographer, my interest is in establishing a relationship with the audience that feels relevant and invites a two-way process of engagement and communication. I want everyone to be moved and moving.
As an artist and activist, I focus on the process that produces a memorable performance. I explore big themes, complex societal issues, relationships, humor, and emotions. I am collaborative by nature and receive tremendous pleasure from sharing creative processes with other artists.
For the past decade Elaine Colandrea has been my primary performance and Continuum teaching collaborator, sharing my work through artist collective called Watermark Arts.
Please visit the Watermark Arts site to treat yourself to endless browsing through beauty and inspiration. This link will open in a new tab.
“These times call on us to become generators of the culture we wish to live in. Creative acts show up in all aspects of life — in art, in teaching, in community-building. Watermarks asks, What happens when these creative acts are informed by somatic awareness? Can we bring into being a world permeated by a sense of wholeness and interconnection?”
~ Elaine Colandrea
I shout a resounding Yes!
For me, to live an embodied life is to be a work of art in motion. Life is magnificent in all its forms. Everyone, every being, is a work of art in progress.
Movement is Megan’s primary language, play is her divine work, and performing is her passion.
