In the Northern Hemisphere the days are shortening and the nights are getting longer. We can resist the coming of this seasonal darkness, and be miserable, or we can sustain ourselves by coming together for support, inspiration, and strength. The amount of work is the same.
All animals prepare to welcome winter with many kinds of seasonal rituals. For humans, most of these rituals have become celebrations involving gathering together and lighting candles, fires, and other displays of lights to summon the life-giving power of the sun to sustain us through the coldest days and longest nights of the year.
Even with the seasonal festivities, this can be a very challenging time of year for many people physically and emotionally. It is a time that invites us to go within, to meet the thinly veiled places between light and dark, night and day, and brightness and shadow. The practice of Continuum provides ways to explore the edges of dark and light, our inner and outer spaces, following the guidance of the breath, sounds, and movements that are always present in our living bodies.
This 5-part workshop will follow one complete lunar cycle – beginning and ending a few days before each Full Moon – and marking every phase between.

Come light your inner fire by embracing the call to journey inward during this potent time of year. Like birth, we can use these contracting forces to move ourselves forward into the unknown with power and creativity.
Continuum is a deeply meditative practice that increases awareness by cueing the mind and body to slow down with audible breath and subtle movements. Continuum enhances our ability to rest into what is, to be in the Here and Now, and to be happier in our own skins. By reconnecting to what is alive in each of us with more empathy and compassion for ourselves, we may find it easier to perceive the same in others and offer that gift out into the world around us.
Let this 5-part workshop be a personal weekly retreat, or spiritual bath. Give yourself the gift of rest, reflection, acceptance, compassion, discovery, and inspiration at what can be a challenging time of year.
The longer format classes of Continuum are specifically designed to create a time and space for you to explore what it means to be in a human body-mind. Breath, vocalized sounds, meditative awareness, visual imagery, and simple, biological movements will help you recover and restore sensation and increase the innate fluid movement responses of your body that get lost in the speed of modern life and the cultural quicksand of fear, sorrow, and pain.
Appropriate for all ages and abilities. Bring your curiosity and an open mind, and you’ll have everything you need!
Please wear comfortable layers of clothing you feel most cozy in, have a notebook to write in, and a full water bottle on hand.
